Odd Prompts, Version 2.025: Week 45

This week, let’s talk about what prompts emotion. Is it nostalgia – the scent of diesel fumes and reflection of shining chrome? How about music, its mournfulness muffled only slightly by twining vines and shadowed features? Are there scenes that never fail to bring joy, or a tear to your eye? What are your tips and tricks to generate your own emotions, and how do you translate it through typing and pen to share it with your readers? Leave your tips and tricks in the comments – along with your prompts, of course! (psst? If you want a discussion of the range of emotions, you could start over here… https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotion_classification. Just don’t get lost!) So here we go!

  1. Leigh Kimmel called the play…

Now the entire trip was in question….

[Aha! Who was going where, and what happened?]

The whole class was waiting when the bus pulled into the driveway. But the driver jumped out and ran to the back, where he looked at the tires, then shook his head and walked back to where the teacher and students waited.

“Well, I don’t know why, but those back tires are flapping like crazy. Something sliced them up on the way over here, and I’m not going to drive any further on them.”

Now the entire trip was in question….

    [Well, maybe…]

[Whoops! Late again! Drat, drat, drat! Well, now the entire trip really is in question.]
