Week 18 of Odd Prompts

The Year proceeds apace. By the time I come back to post again, it will be May. Spring has fully sprung in the Northern Hemisphere. The world has turned upside-down for months, now. Writing, and reading, continue to be important as avenues of escape and focus on something other than the oddities of daily life.

Write on, my friends, write on.

Remember: no wordcounts, no judgements. It doesn’t have to be fiction, or even captured in words if you prefer a visual medium. Here, you have the freedom to create, with no pressure.

  5. This week’s prompt at was simple. Those are always fun!

    “So, he found a dead body when he was wakeboarding off of Jersey.”

    A little brainstorming…

    Who is he? What kind of dead body? Wakeboarding… who was driving the boat? What kind of stunts was he performing?

    Oh, what the heck, let’s get back to our chef in a monster hunting outfit…

    Can I have some of that?

    He shook his head, then smiled at the man.

    “What did you say? What’s wakeboarding?”

  11. Mine is now up on my LiveJournal at https://starshipcat.livejournal.com/741767.html. It takes place somewhere between the Expulsions and the events of Shepardsport Pirate Radio (assuming that will end up being canonical — right now it’s just an experimental work in which I get to play without worrying about formal structure, etc).

    And a note to myself — in the future, make sure that if I write a character’s name down on a random slip of paper, that I note who the character is, so I’m not stuck looking at several different names, fairly sure that this is the page where I wrote those names, but feeling that not a one of them is the right name for this character.
